Work of Fiction

Architekt Miroslav Naskov im Kurzinterview

© Miroslav Naskov, Mind Design

Chapter A recent and truly impressive concept of yours is titled »Floating Gardens«. The presence of plants, woods and water seem to draw a continuous line in terms of aesthetics of your conceptual work. How important is the surrounding landscape, in order for your designs to develop their full effect?

Miroslav Naskov The play between architecture and nature is in the core of our design concepts. We believe that both have to work together as a whole unity. Furthermore the integration of plants and landscape elements enhance the energy performance of the design and lead to more sustainable solutions.

Chapter You seem to have a very specific vision when it comes to architecture. Is this how you think the future of modern architecture will or rather should look like?

Miroslav Naskov I think architecture should evolve and adapt to specific environments and conditions. As designers we have to be eager to take on challenges to question and improve our work. Our vision is to be innovative and to push the boundaries of modern architecture.

Chapter Most of your designs are concepts of monumental buildings. Who do you imagine would commission such a special building? What purpose would it actually serve?

Miroslav Naskov We already can see some private-public investments which make this kind of concepts and projects like »Floating Gardens« possible. »Floating Gardens« for example is a concept for a community space in the public sector.

Chapter Are you reimagining the purpose of a »house« as we know it?

Miroslav Naskov Nowadays the purpose of a house has extended. We are now spending more hours working from home and adapting to the new post pandemic dynamics, so the residential sector also needs to evolve.

Chapter What fuels your imagination in general?

Miroslav Naskov My imagination and creativity are triggered by trying new stuff. For instance, trying new design, learning new software, reading an article or a book.

Chapter In your opinion, what is the most special building that was ever built?

Miroslav Naskov There are many special buildings out there, as an architect and designer we have to look at them, learn from them and then try to implement what we learn.
