Less an event than a ritual\u2014the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este<\/i> is an annual celebration of automotive design and technology history, characterized by timeless elegance and style. Between the grand hotel fa\u00e7ade, manicured gravel and the picturesque Lake Como, the most spectacular cars of the past and present once again took center stage this year\u2014classics of past decades as well as design visions for the automotive future.<\/p>\n

This year, particular attention was given to three world premieres from BMW<\/a>: Among them, the new BMW M2 CS\u2014<\/i>a further performance-enhanced version of the compact sports car with 530 hp (pictured below with BMW M<\/a> designer Oliver Heilmer<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\"Presentation<\/p>\n

BMW Motorrad<\/a> presented the Concept RR<\/i>, an enormously expressive preview of the next generation of RR<\/em>\u00a0 Superbike models, as well as the BMW Concept Speedtop\u2014<\/i>a coup\u00e9 limited to 70 units with references to the tradition of the Shooting Brake (read more here<\/a>).<\/p>\n

\"Picture<\/p>\n

While those three BMW innovations<\/a> looked to the more or less distant future, an impressive variety of historic vehicles once again delighted visitors and judges alike this year. In the end, the coveted \u00bbTrofeo BMW Group \u2014 Best of Show\u00ab award went to an Alfa Romeo Tipo B (P3) <\/i>from 1934\u2014a vehicle that still stands for the highest Italian design elegance and outstanding technology today.<\/p>\n

The public prize \u00bbTrofea Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este\u00ab was awarded to a BMW 507<\/i>\u00a0 \u00a0from 1957\u2014a roadster that is one of the brand’s most influential icons.<\/p>\n

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este <\/i>as a stage for past, present and future concepts\u2014in 2025, the western shore of Lake Como once again demonstrated how elegantly different eras and design approaches can come together in a common setting. [Ed.]<\/i><\/p>\n
